Summer Camp’s new single marks a profound difference from their previous single- “Nobody Knows You,” which purveyed dirty synthesizers and grittily distorted vocals, whereas “Better Off Without You” is so upbeat that it almost sounds like a 1980’s smash hit.

With Elizabeth Sankey’s perfectly clear vocals, so happy-clappy that they sound like a perfect mix between Best Coast and Bananarama with an element of 60’s girl-group twee. Alongside Jeremy Warmsley’s contrasting, harmonic backing vocals. Both backed with a clapping drumbeat and euphoric synths.

Proving to have all of the elements needed to produce a perfect 21^st century pop song with a distinct 80’s nostalgic vibe.
