Off the back of their astounding performances at this year’s Reading and Leeds festivals and their groundbreaking single The Bay, the new single from London/Brighton-based Metronomy, features a change in the form of drummer Anna Prior taking lead vocals.
With a melodic instrumentation to back her 1970’s-sounding vocal style, woozy keyboards and a gentle drum-beat, it builds into another fine pop song from the band.
Although not an instant sing-a-long 21st-century indie-pop anthem such as A Thing For Me or Heartbreaker from their second album, the same, fun writing aspects have been put into Everything Goes My Way to formulate yet another great single from their latest, the Mercury Prize-nominated The English Riviera.
