Induction is the debut single to be released from Patterns, a band who formed in Manchester last year.
The song comprises a psychedelic, shoegaze wall of sound, made up of shimmering guitar with a complementing bass-line and drum beat, under dazzling keyboards and Ciaran McAuley’s melodic vocal work, with a voice slightly reminiscent of Paul Heaton of The Housemartins/Beautiful South.
Written “about being young and trying to create your place in the world,” the song tackles this subject with a pop-infused melody and softness. Patterns are sure to be a band to watch during the end of this year and the beginning of the next.
