New single from Irish born-London bred R&B star; Maverick Sabre is difficult to judge.
On the one hand, there is no denying that his voice is extraordinarily soulful and he himself is a very talented artist. Also the track includes a bluesy instrumentation, sounding as though his band was found and snapped up from a smoky French jazz bar.
However, on the other hand, the track somewhat lacks substance and excitement. Proving that “I Need” is somewhat just a generic, R&B track from the mean streets of East London.
Although “I Need” is one of the weaker tracks on “The Travelling Man” mixtape, when delving into the other tracks it is apparent that Sabre’s song writing skills are a key component of the UK’s R&B/Hip-Hop scene.
